  KISER'S SHORT STORY
THE BULLY IS ADAPTED
INTO
A SHORT FILM

A childhood bully, a chance meeting, and the unexpected choices the circumstance reveals is the premise for the adapted story by film maker Nicholas Delfino. The Bully is Delfino's first short film and he credits a wonderful short story by writer Roger Dean Kiser.

Delfino has worked in film and video commercial production for over 14 years. He moved to Los Angeles, California from Youngstown, Ohio in 1999. where he spent his first two years working as a First Assistant Director in the low budget indy world.

His career goal is to direct feature films. Delfino co-wrote a feature script, Love Sick that was a finalist for the Sundance 2003 Writers/Production Lab.

00 DP, Michael Off sets up a shot.

In support of Delfino's bid to direct his script he turned to the internet in search of a short story that he could adapt into a short film. Delfino first came across Roger Kiser on the web in 2002. He contacted Roger and optioned the rights for several stories. The end result is a film that lives up to the authors memory of the actual story. Director of Photography Michael Off did a wonderful job turning Delfino's storyboards and vision into a painterly piece of film. The Bully was accepted into the LA International Film Festival in the fall of 2003.
